Trend
There is a strong trend, especially among young people, to increasingly use cashless payment methods. Coins and notes are not used to the same extent as before. The lack of cash reduces sales in vending machines where payments are made with coins. However, most people always have their mobile phone with them and almost all carry at least one credit card.
Market
There are two different market segments for vending machine operators. First, we have all the public machines in airports, train, bus, petrol stations, hospitals, sports stadiums, etc.

In this market segment, about 30% of the total market, there is a need for payment of both cash and a universal accepted cashless payment method such as Visa and MasterCard.
The second segment, about 70% of the total market, are vending machines installed at offices, factories, schools or other organizations that serves a well defined group of people. In this market the main trend is to get rid of cash as soon as possible, while offering an easy to use cashless payment method that is easy to install.
